Happy 100th birthday to the Philadelphia PGA! I was honored to be commissioned to create this Centennial artwork and worked in a new style, combining photo-collage and hand painting. The group photo is from the inaugural Philadelphia PGA Professional Championship at the now defunct Tredyffrin CC. The background image is from the same era and depicts the famous clubhouse and finishing hole at Aronimink Golf Club, host of the Centennial championship. The original version of this photo was generously provided by Hagley Museum. The man in upper right of the scene was named Percy Sanderson. He was a writer for the Evening Public Ledger who wrote under the name Sandy McNiblick and was co-doner of the trophy pictured. This was a unique piece for me and I found myself making up names and stories about each of the individuals as I painted them.
